What is aeration, and why does my lawn need it?
Aeration is the process of removing small plugs of soil to reduce compaction and improve airflow, water absorption, and nutrient delivery to the roots. It helps your lawn grow deeper, stronger roots.
What is overseeding?
Overseeding is the process of spreading new grass seed over your existing lawn to improve thickness, fill bare patches, and enhance lawn color and texture.
When is the best time for aeration and overseeding?
Typically, early fall or spring is ideal—when temperatures support seed germination and root growth. We’ll help you choose the best timing for your region.
Can I mow my lawn after aeration and overseeding?
You should wait 10–14 days after overseeding to mow. This gives new seedlings time to establish without being disrupted.
Do I need to water after the service?
Yes! Consistent watering is critical after overseeding. We recommend light, daily watering for the first two weeks to keep the soil moist.
Will the lawn look messy after aeration?
You may see small plugs of soil on your lawn, which is normal. They break down naturally and enrich your soil over time.
How long before I see results?
Germination typically begins within 7–21 days, depending on the grass type and weather conditions. Full results are usually visible within 6–8 weeks.
Can I walk on the lawn after service?
It’s best to minimize traffic for the first 2–3 weeks after overseeding to avoid disturbing the new grass.
Do I need to aerate every year?
For most lawns, annual aeration is beneficial. If your soil is heavily compacted or your lawn sees high traffic, more frequent aeration may be recommended.
