What are soil amendments, exactly?
Soil amendments are materials added to the soil to improve its structure, nutrient content, moisture retention, and pH balance like lime, compost, gypsum, or micronutrients.
How do I know if my soil needs treatment?
Signs include poor lawn growth despite fertilizing, yellow or thinning grass, compacted soil, or standing water. A soil test gives us a clear answer.
What is a soil pH, and why does it matter?
Soil pH measures how acidic or alkaline your soil is. Grass grows best in slightly acidic soil (pH 6–7). If the pH is off, your lawn may not absorb nutrients properly—even if you fertilize.
How often should I test my soil?
We recommend soil testing at least once every 1–2 years to monitor changes and adjust treatments as needed.
What types of amendments do you use?
We tailor each treatment, but common amendments include lime, sulfur, compost, gypsum, and micronutrient blends—depending on your soil test results.
Is soil treatment safe for pets and children?
Yes! Once dry or settled (typically within 24 hours), our soil treatments are completely safe for your family and pets.
How soon will I see results after a soil amendment?
It depends on your lawn’s condition and the type of amendment, but many clients see improvements in lawn color and thickness within 4–6 weeks.
Can I combine soil treatment with other services?
Absolutely. Soil health enhances the effectiveness of fertilization, overseeding, and pest control. It’s a key foundation of any healthy lawn care plan.
Is this a one-time treatment?
Some soil issues can be corrected with one or two treatments. Others, especially those involving organic matter or pH correction, may require seasonal maintenance.
